Your Questions About Online Advertising Los Angeles

Ruth asks…

Has anyone tried any of the mystery shopping firms advertised online?

I have moved to Los Angeles and I am interested in taking advantage of any mystery shopping, but I am leary about giving out personal info to those that are not legitimate. Please advise.

The best resource to check out is the National Mystery Shopping Providers Association (MSPA) http://www.mysteryshop.org , an organization of mystery shopping companies. Check out their listing of shopping assignments by country and by state from member companies. Some of the listings may be outdated, but the companies listed in their database are usually the biggest companies in the industry and most importantly, legitimate. Companies are accepted as members of the association only if they have been in existence for two years and they can submit proof of business existence. Make a list of these companies and check out their requirements to be a mystery shopper.

Jenny asks…

How do you get around all of the fees on Allegiant air?

I am trying to take advantage of the “cheap” fares being advertised to Los Angeles of about $59-89 bucks round trip. By the time I get done planning the book for two round trip tickets online, the total is just over $600 bucks. How is is possibly that there is $200 bucks worth of fees?

I have tried removing priority boarding, but it will not let me unselect the seat selection $60 fee.

admin answers:

Well, you probably can’t “get around” all of them, but priority boarding and seat selection should be simple enough to avoid.

People of Los Angeles County Only!?!?!?

Its not B-95.1 Ventura, i’ve been to Simi Valley and picked up B-95.1 and totally different, but its called ‘Frank FM’ and claimed it’s call letters were KVIN for Los Angeles, I’m in The City Of Canoga Park, Going to Chatsworth it’s on 95.1 FM for almost everywhere I don’t know where the heck its coming from, I looked it up online found nothing, I think it might be an illegal broadcast or a pirate station anybody here it? I mean if it was illegal can’t the FCC trace it? I’m not here to advertise it’s just interesting, my radio scanned and it picked it up in my car, even on my cheap crappy mom and pop radio, idk it is so weird people in the Los Angeles County see if you here it i know i’m not going crazy, Canoga Park, Chatsworth, Panorama City, Pacoima, Arleta, trust me i’ve been almost everywhere and it still comes in its actually annoying to me because it just is, oh and no commercials either.

admin answers:

KVIN is licensed to 920 AM out of Ceres, CA. And plays Adult Standards

KRVR (The River) is their sister FM at 105.5. And plays Smooth Jazz.

They are way up north in wine country. Nowhere near Canoga Park. So I think you’ve nailed a pirate using the call letters to throw off anyone who gets too interested. Of course FCC will know in a hearbeat whether it is a legit station or not. And you bet your boots they can trace it. If this station is disrupting frequencies in the No. 2 market in the US they’ll be on it pretty quick. Is it possible for you to tape portions of what you hear? Especially any live voice announcements with the call letters? That would help the FCC.

Do your civic duty. Report them. But check below to make sure they’re not on this list of legitimate stations that broadcast on 95.1 in California. If the long link in “sources” doesn’t work, go to www.radio-locator.com, click on advanced search and plug in 95.1 and the state.

As for “Pump Up the Volume” the character in that movie was on short-wave.

Never, never, listen to that station again. It is an electromagnetic arm of Satan! It reaches us on different frequencies and attempts to steer our minds to lead us to unforgivable places! Lord have mercy! Jesus! Jesus and Mary!
