Is it effective to buy web traffic for my site?

I have tried some SEO techniques and link exchanges, but my web traffic is still very low. Someone told me they used to buy visitors for there web site. Does anyone know how this works and where to go to do this?

Good News & Bad News. Good news is that buying visitors for your web site is actually pretty cheap. You can usually get 1000 visitors for as little as $3. Bad news is that if you are selling a product, the traffic does not convert as well as other means of getting visitors to your site. However, I use this method to regularly get traffic to my sites and find it to be fairly profitable. I think it depends on where you get the traffic from (some providers are better than others). I use http://www.buy-site-traffic.com because they offer options that let me accurately target which visitors I want them to send me.

For example, I sell a product that earns me $20 for each sell. The traffic I buy only converts at a rate of about .5% (pretty low). However, that means I usually get 4 or 5 sales for every 1000 visitors I buy giving be a nice $77 to $97 profit. Not too shabby. If you sell a product, then I think you will be able to make some decent money using this approach.

The best way is to have good, useful content. If you don’t have content, nobody’s going to want to go to your site.

Other ideas (most of which you probably already tried):
Submit your domain to search engines.
Trade links with high traffic related sites (this gets people from other sites to your site and also may raise your pagerank for search engines, making you show up earlier.)
Have relevant keywords for your page, so that it shows up when people search for a topic related to your site..

If you decide to pay for a SEO, make sure you READ your contract VERY CAREFULLY. Some have been known to promise to “try” to raise your pagerank, not promise results.

Begin with reading the following article and helpful tips which you can incorporate into future client websites.

The most effective way to advertise on the Internet is
to first set up a website and publish its domain name
on major search directories such as Google.com,
Yahoo.com [at http://www.google.com/addurl/?...... And
MSN.com since 85% of Internet shoppers rely on these
search directories to provide them with goods and
services. In a sense, these search directories are a
very large Internet Yellow Pages.

Nevertheless, should your website or opening webpage
fail to contain "generic" keywords, then anyone using
such "generic" queries will not be able to discover
your website. Your domain name [URL] of your website,
in a sense, will be invisible, undiscoverable.

You may want to consider some simple algorithms which,
when observed and committed in designing of a website
with placement of various critical metatags that can
surely achieve a high search engine presence and
increase Internet traffic to your website. These
metatag strategies work well with published webpages
at Google and Yahoo.

Design: Should you create an extensive Flash-based
website, make sure to fill-in the property entries
such as the Title, Description and Keywords. Failing
to do so, leaves no hard HTML or ALT resource that can
be readily indexed by search robots. Also consider the
Internet audience and their incoming setup. For
example, if they are on analog/dialup, Flash webpages
take too long to load up and therefore analog users
will likely lose interest and discontinue entering the
Flash site. On the other hand, anyone on hi-speed DSL
lines, will welcome Flash pages which load quickly. So
before designing a pure Flash websitge, ask the simple
question, “Who’s my end user – is he on dialup or
DSL?” And if you had to choose between these two users
for maximum marketability, then select analog users
since 80% of most resident users are still analog
Internet subscribers and pure HTML designed webpages
is best for them.

A non-Flash-based website which relies on hard text,
is far easier to be indexed by search robots. Limit
the use of stylized text saved as .gifs since as a
graphic, they are not indexable by search robots.

Avoid use of frames since any number of search robots
are unable to properly classify textual material.

Placement of Metatags:

A ranking or search order does take place with Google
and Yahoo and it begins with the “Title” metag which
should consist of no more than 65 characters separated
by commas. The “Title” should describe in generic
terms, the goods and services, followed by a location
from which the resource is located, i.e., city, state.
The placement of a domain name which is not generic
within the “Title” is not appropriate, unless your
domain name is a major recognizable brand name.

The second metatag is the “Description” which is
usually 25-30 words to form a complete sentence which
best describes one’s goods and services.

And the very last category – “Keywords” are also
somewhat limited to 15-16 words which can be plural
and compound in nature. Again, avoid multiple entries
which could be mistaken as “spamdexed entries” which
is defined as the loading, and submission of
repetitive words into a particular metatag category.
“Spamdexing” when discovered on a webpage and reported
to Google’s spamreport.com can result in the
elimination of your website from their search
directory.

Here’s an example of a very highly-placed website on
Google.com: Begin with the very “generic” search query
“sandwiches downtown los angeles,” taking note to not
abbreviate Los Angeles to “LA” and of course, leave
out the parentheses (“). It will bring up some 2.4
million+ search results. Check out where “Nazos.net”
is ranked. It’s ranked No. 1!
Again, Nazos.net’s high web presence was achieved by
proper web design and placement of relevant metatags
according to Google’s publication guidelines.

I’m being told that on google, when one does any search, the list of links appearing on the RIGHT side of the page are the sites that are paying PAY PER CLICK and the list on the LEFT SIDE, are the ones that are NOT paying pay per click…is this true? if so, how do the list on the LEFT side manage to be on the first page or top or whatever…is it through effective SEO that they are somehow managing this?

1) yes, the results on right (and sometimes the 2-3 results on top highlighted in different color) are sponsored / paid results.

2) It is totally up to google how it “sorts” the results. They have an algorithm that decides which results are most relevant and should be on the top. And yes, good seo techniques make the content of your website appear more relevant for certain keywords and hence bring your site to the top of the non-paid results.

It doesn’t really matter whether your title tag is long or short, AS LONG as the most important keywords are right at the start, or near the start.

If you look at the search “home business” for example, you’ll note that most of the top 10 sites have the word “Home Business” right at the start of the title

These people are charging money to set up a web site and register it with Google AdSense for you, and charging a lot more than it would cost you to do it yourself — webpage hosting is pretty cheap and it doesn’t cost anything to register a site with AdSense.

If I were you, I would stay away from anything that isn’t legally affiliated or sponsored by Google!

This means people are paying to advertise for those keywords. To find out how much they are paying to advertise go to https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal?defaultView=2 and type in your search word or search phrase. Then click get keyword ideas. It will give you a list of relevant keywords. Above the results on the right side will be a drop down menu, click it and click “show estimated avg. CPC”, along with all of the other “show” options. This will tell you how much people are paying to advertise for those keyword phrases, how many searches are done per month, etc. If there are some searches done each month for your terms and people are paying atleast 50 cents then I say give it a shot. You could earn anywhere up to 50% of the total CPC.

Again this takes time and energy, but if you keep at it, you can make money with adsense. There are many more techniques you can learn to increase your possible earnings with adsense but what I gave you above should help you decide if you want to try it.
