Hi..I didn’t really know about that but Google Analytics is pretty good. It tells you so much about your traffic, where it comes from, where it goes,…it even showed me that putting an exclamation point in my title was decreasing traffic. Maybe you should try that.

Why are most statistics regarding illegal immigrants always twisted or are just plain lies?
While on this forum, I’ve noticed sources, links and articles thrown out on here, and if you do some good research, you’ll notice that most posted are twisted or just plain lies, especially when it comes to the cost. Why do you think this?
Please! we know they are illegally here, we know you want them deported blah blah blah! if you don’t have a direct answer to the question, please move on.

Cost of Illegal Immigrants
Q: Do illegal immigrants cost $338.3 billion dollars a year? More than the Iraq war?
A: A chain e-mail that makes this claim is loaded with errors and misleading assertions. Published studies vary widely but put the cost to government at a small fraction of that total.
FULL ANSWER (Please read it if you have time)
This chain e-mail has been forwarded to us by readers many times over the past year. The most recent version adds a new angle, claiming that the amount of money taxpayers spend on illegal immigrants would be enough to “stimulate the economy.” But no matter the spin, the e-mail is rife with errors.
It also contains several red flags that should tip off readers that this is more bogus than believable. For one thing, the figures given don’t add up to a “whopping $338.3 billion dollars a year” spent on illegal immigrants in the U.S., as the e-mail claims.
The e-mail lists 14 claims about illegal immigrants, all of which were included in a longer list penned by anti-immigration activist Frosty Wooldridge and published on the conservative Web site NewswithViews.com on Jan. 22, 2007. Another NewswithViews columnist, Lynn Stuter, included Wooldridge’s list, with some updated links, in an article posted on April 15, 2008.
The source cited for at least nine of the items is either the conservative Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) or the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), both of which call for more restrictive immigration laws. CIS spokesman Bryan Griffith told us that he had never seen the e-mail but that he suspected something was out there because of occasional surges in traffic that forced him to rewrite Web pages. When told about the e-mail’s contents and conclusion of a $338.3 billion yearly cost, he responded that CIS “never said anything of the like and is not going to comment on a chain e-mail that is in no way scientific.”
The e-mail also continually blurs the important distinction between legal and illegal immigrants – a sign of sloppy and untrustworthy work.

It’s a ploy continuously used by the GOP. It serves to keep their supporters focused on bogus enemies and manufactured issues.Their goal is to keep Americans at each other’s throats while government takes care of what they consider important, redistributing wealth upward.

My website has been dropped by Yahoo, not sure why?
Hi technical team, I was wondering if you were able to offer any explanation or help with the following search engine problems we are experiencing with both Yahoo.com and Yahoo.com.au
We cannot locate our website if we type in our company name “southern cross metal recyclers” directly into the search engine and filter for Australia only, how could this happen to our website??? None of this makes any sense, how could we go from No 1 for scrap metal on Yahoo.com.au to not being in the first 1000 searches?? Can you help me please?
My name is Peter Thomas from Melbourne Australia and I am the owner and webmaster of http://www.southerncrossmetalrecyclers.com.au/. We have been active on the internet for 8 years and have gained respect in our community as a well presented and informative website with over 3625 pages and 6178 inward links. For some time we have been No 1 on Yahoo.com.au for the term “scrap metal” and No 11 for Yahoo.com for the same term in almost 22,000,000 search results. For some reason, our site has been dropped by Yahoo for all search terms that we have always ranked very well with. We have been building our site for some time now to be optimised for many search terms and up to the time that Yahoo dropped our ranking we have always been in the top 10 – 15 for hundreds of different search terms. We are currently and have been for some years ranked No 1 & 2 on Google.com.au and No 2 on Google.com for the terms “scrap metal”. We have been careful to not list or link to any banned sites, adult or gambling or other sites that may create any problems. Our site is the largest most comprehensive scrap metal recycling information compendium site of its type in Australia and perhaps Worldwide. It has been our aim to offer information, specifications, codes, prices, services, pictures including slide shows on all topics relating to scrap metal recycling and processing services. But now we cannot be found in the Yahoo directory when filtering for an Australia only search and using terms that would in all probability land any search directly on our site. We cannot be found in the first 1000 searches, in fact there are sites that rank higher than us that in a website sense are very basic and not well constructed. If as the webmaster of this site I have made some fundamental error then it would be helpful to understand the problem that I have created causing this to happen. Our site currently has over 1000 unique visitors daily viewing over 2500 pages. In my web statistics you can see how many referrals we get from each search engine and before this problem Yahoo was an excellent referral site, however due to this problem we are now not getting any traffic from your search engines. I am coming to you in a humble manner asking you in all honesty what we have done and how we can rectify a very obvious problem.
Kindest Regards
Peter Thomas

First, I know you pain when you lose a main keyword ranking for your site :::moment of silence:::
I want to note that I noticed you were comparing Google & Yahoo! Search results positioning numbers. Usually it is “very” hard to optimize for all 3 major search engines. This is due to the fact that they all use different algorithms and factors to generate their results.
My first guess would be that your site was removed for some reason. I have a lot more questions that need answers before I can make any suggestions.
Below in sources I provided my search engine optimization knowledge database, this link goes directly to my “Ask a Question” page that is sent directly to me. Reference this question URL in it, I’ll reply back with more questions regarding this issue and see if we can figure out the problem.

Per year, what % of average people need a lawyer for something in their lives & how many actually get one?
I’d like to find out, in general, how many people (or % per year) have what can be called a claim-worthy occurance in their lives that should be looked at by a lawyer. How does that compare to the numbers of people who actually do go out and get a laywer or do anything at all that would constitute “filing a claim” in any area of law like personal injury or workers’ comp or any other “important” area. I’m trying to exclude things like traffic tickets and such because most people can handle this on their own, without necessarily getting a lawyer involved. Are there a lot of people who, for one reason or another, don’t file a claim and don’t get a lawyer despite the fact that they may have a good/worthy claim to make? What could be the reasons for this? Also, if anyone has any web (or print) sources where such general law statistics information can be obtained, I’d really appreciate a link to some source where I can do more research.
Looking for statistics for the United States only!

Good luck.
My personal opinion is that 100% of people could use an atty and probably only 25% get one.
Maybe the prepaid legal people have some facts. It would make sense that they might use it as part of a sales pitch. Http://www.prepaidlegal.com

Internet marketing question?
My first time using Y!Answers so here goes:
I would like to know where i could find data, statistics about how implementation of various features in a website affects its traffic and bounce rate.
More detailed: i would like to know what is , on average, the potential gain in traffic of an online shopping web site for certain implemented features: polls, quizzes, personal blogs.
Thank you.

I highly recommend Marketing Sherpa; http://www.marketingsherpa.com/
They have very useful statistics and metric data on what you’re looking for. My suggestions is that you simply start implementing the features you mentioned one by one and measure them with web analytics. Statistics are useful, and should be used as a general guideline. Online shopping is a very unique beast; every industry, every niche and even categories within niches, will always present quite different behaviors and performances, which are highly influenced by demographics, seasonality and other metrics.
At our agency, we are constantly optimizing our client’s websites beyond search. Conversion optimization is a key factor when it comes to shopping websites. Polls, quizzes, blogs, reviews, testimonials, etc, all play a role in it, but don’t always apply to every site.
Make this part of your interactive marketing efforts and you’ll be successful.
